Living in Bermuda for the past 25 years, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the believable local characters and wonderful descriptions of the Islands beauty spots. A fast paced, witty read with lots to keep the reader engaged. Look forward to Ms. Middletons next book.
Having been a frequent visitor to Bermuda as a child, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Even without any connection to Bermuda, the book is a great read. The story and the characters are well developed. I looked forward to getting back to this book every night and read it within a few days. I was sad when I finished.
A most engaging tale that is difficult to put down. I read it twice the first week, and was sorry when I came to the end!!
With its nucleus of likeable and believable characters, it is hoped that this is the first of a series of stories about Inspector Burgess and his team.
Knowing Bermuda, I was transported back there to enjoy many of the wonderful sights and sounds of the Island.

It is so nice to read a story where the detectives are not from New York, Miami, or London. This book transports you to the island world of Bermuda and its own unique culture and style. The author's rich characters are so believable because they seem like real people. None of the unrealistic, hyper-active, super-smart heros who always have a witty remark to make. These characters are as full of flaws and confusion as you would expect in real life.
I was attracted to the book because I have spent a lot of time in Bermuda over the years. Ms. Middleton has captured it perfectly. I hope she is working on a sequel!
Deb Middleton has hit the mark with her debut murder mystery based in beautiful, and once tranquil, Bermuda. It's a real page-turner, filled with local history, stand-out characters, and action. A great read.Square Snapper
